Surfing and Turtle Nesting Beaches

Playa Tamarindo is largely the favorite and most well known of all the beaches, but you should note it also can get rather crowded. You will find dozens of restaurants, shops, boutique hotels crowded along the real estate that faces the stunning beach. The beaches of Avellanas, Langosta, Grande and Negra each have their own charm, all very popular among locals and visiting surfers. Playa Grande, besides its long stretch of powerful surf breaks, is home to the second largest nesting site of leatherback sea turtles internationally. Furthermore, Playa Ostional is one of the world’s most exceptional nesting sites for Olive ridley sea turtles. These beaches are treasures to fans of Guanacaste real estate.

Santa Rosa National Park

Established in 1966, the Santa Rosa National Park contains many different ecosystems along with 10 distinctive habitats. You will want to visit during the summer when the trails are drier, although the rainy season stimulates the lush rainforest growth. There are a lot of great hiking trails which snake throughout the park. Hike down to the beaches to take in the scenery while experiencing stunning forests and waterfalls.
